About the Author
James C. Davis taught history at the University of Pennsylvania for thirty-four years. He is the author of four other books, dealing with Venice, the early history of European nations, and the lives of peasants and blue-collar workers.

The Human Story por James Davis
History of mankind
Elsewhere there is comment on it's brevity and lack of ? ?, well many things. I agree that it's title and number of pages (450) tell the story decently, as does the author.
Enjoyable overview of world history from prehistory to the present. The title is quite appropriate because Davis weaves history into an engaging narrative. Although it's full of historical information, it feels much more like a novel than a textbook.
