Il documentario, realizzato in collaborazione con l'ambasciata di Israele in Italia, rievoca la straordinaria storia dei bambini ebrei di Jugoslavia, Germania e di altre zone dell'Europa occupata dai Nazisti che, tra il 1942 e il 1943, trovarono ospitalità in Italia, nella località di Nonantola, provincia di Modena, nella enorme Villa Emma, dove furono testimoni del coraggio e della solidarietà di tutti gli abitanti del posto.
