Alan Dershowitz has been called one of the “most distinguished defenders of individual rights” and “the best-known criminal lawyer in the world,” and was the youngest full professor hired by Harvard Law School in its history. He has published more than one hundred articles in magazines and journals such as the New York Times Magazine, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, the New Republic, The Nation, Commentary, Saturday Review, the Harvard Law Review, and the Yale Law Journal, and he is the author of twenty-seven fiction and nonfiction books. Dershowitz was named a Guggenheim Fellow, was given the William O. Douglas First Amendment Award by the Anti-Defamation League of the B'nai B'rith in 1983, and was awarded the Menachem Begin Award of Honor by the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in 2011.
