Divorce for children can be tough when the parents share custody. Hard for the child because everything is constantly changing and reorganizing itself. "I have two homes" depicts a little girl whose parents have been separated. She gets two of everything now, and although her parents don't love each other they love her.Small group discussion.

I like this book because it helps children to relate with divorced families and dealing with two different homes.

I like how the book is told from a child’s perspective and her observations. She doesn’t really understand what is going on but she is able to recognize the changes, such as dad’s sadness and the adult’s long conversations. Although she notices the negative changes, she notices the positives. She says how she enjoys having two birthdays and looking up to see both parents at her swimming event made her feel loved. In the beginning it was hard but there was always love and I believe that is a great message for children.… (mais)
