I found the title character, Brandy, self-ish and self centered. To get that irritated by a character, as if she were a real person, does show she was believedly written. The book was told primarily in first person narrative by Brandy of the numerous events and misfortunes taking place and leading to the final resolution of the problem the sparked the tale. It was almost as if you were reading a letter from someone far away telling about a series of events. I felt I didn't get to really know the rest of the characters as much as I would have liked becasue I only saw them through Brandy's eyes, although their fundamental characters did come through. Themes of family and friendship abound and do make you think about how they are defined, what they mean, and what they really entail. I feared a totally unsatisfactory ending but happily was proven wrong.… (mais)
