I finished this book several weeks ago and waited before writing my review. For me writing reviews are not easy no matter how much I loved the book. After finally reading the books in this series (still waiting on book 4 to be published) I can honestly say some authors write with passion, some write passion into the books while a few authors take passion to a new level. Adrienne is an author that takes that passion to a new level.

I have never met Adrienne but we have spoke by email several times. When I ask her for a guest post to go along with my review she was happy to provide. After reading over the guest post anyone will see that her passion is not just in books, she carries that passion to anything she writes. She has become an auto buy for me. If Adrienne publishes a book then I will be first in line (or clicking) just to have a copy.

Starting out readers learn Michael has been in a fight. His lip is bleeding, one eye is swelling shut, raw knuckles and possibly broken or bruised ribs. Michaels thought about brute force is so very true.

It didn’t take courage to bring a man to his knees. It only took brute force.

Readers are given a glimpse of Michael and his thoughts / feelings. To most people he looks to be a broken man. Someone who believes he is unworthy of anything, someone who thinks it is better to hid than try and work past his troubles.

Michael wished he could say he was ashamed of busting the chops of a drunkard with a grade-school education. But ever since God had forced him to bury Gabriel two years ago, he’d welcomed opportunities to break the Commandments.

I really question the type of man or man of God Michael’s father was. For Jedidiah Jones he blamed Michael for Gabriel’s death. For this reader if he was really a man of God and followed what he preached he would realize that Michael was not responsible for anything.

“Laggard!” Jedidiah Jones had railed, his forefinger trembling. “I send you to school to make your brother well, and what do you do? You snore through his death throes!”

My favorite character, Collie is prominent in book 2. He is really just a kid but it seems everyone is more interested in changing him than helping him. May Adrienne will grace fans with a fifth book features Colin and a lady love who changes him. A reader can hope.

Readers are introduces to Bonnie early in chapter one. From the start I had a problem liking Bonnie. She is very manipulative. It seems she is only concerned with what she wants and it does not matter who might be hurt in the process.

Eden the stories heroine makes a big entrance. She shows strength and courage when other females swoon from the excitement. While other females would worry about getting dirt on their dresses Eden moves thru debris to make sure the child is not hurt.

“Jamie, honey,” she panted, wading past splintered barrels, dripping egg yolks, and seeping pickle juice. “Jamie, are you hurt?”

Early in the story Michael’s thoughts are revealed. He thinks he is dying. No other details are given. When I reached the part where Eden figures out what is actually wrong with Michael I had to laugh. Not because he is not a good doctor, he is a man. The average man that believes he is almost indestructible.

This was another enjoyable read. The characters were fully developed with a story that will keep readers entertained. I highly recommend this to romance readers.

Once again thank you for another great read Adrienne.

Okay I admit I wanted to read this book because Rafe is from Kentucky. Being that Kentucky is my home state I am partial to books with this location. I am proud to admit being a Kentucky Hillybilly sitting on my front porch with some nice smooth moonshine J

This was not my first time reading this book. I read it before in paperback. It was honestly just as good this time around as it was the first time. I really did not see much of the paranormal elements in the book. Maybe it is just me but I could not see it. I do not put a child seeing angels as paranormal.

This book took me on a trip back to the 1860’s in Kentucky then to 1870’s Colorado. I felt transported back to the untamed lands while our country was still new and budding.

With a swift hand and unique way with words deWolfe created a story that captivates readers.

Thanks for a great read.

Let me state from the start that I am a little bias. I have read previous books by Adrienne and I loved each one. Adrienne does not just write bestsellers or award winners, she writes from the heart. Each book captures readers interest, pulls them in then leaves readers wanting more. If it is written by Adrienne one book is never enough.

Seduced by an Angel starts out strong. Seraphina is quickly telling her brother Michael off.

"I'll have you know, Michael Jones," retorted his spirited young companion, a petite southern belle with a heart-shaped face, "I shall not be rushed into marrying some fuddy-duddy preacher just because you would rather chase your new wife around the bedroom rather that act as a respectable guardian to me."

Seraphina or Sera is a strong female. She does not allow any man to push her around but she is also a lady. She knows what she wants and very lady like she goes after it.

Early on readers learn that Sera has Episodes. When she touches certain items she has visions about people who have touched them in the past.

"Gabriel is the only brother who ever loved me! He brought me rainbows for my birthday. Did you know? I woke up to rainbows in my hotel room this morning!"

But Sera is half way treated like she is crazy by her brothers. Michael is a medical doctor. Being scientific he is very skeptical about anything that might be abnormal. He believes that Spirits of Hartshorn will help Sera when she has one of her "Episodes". Sera's brother Rafe is more concerned with protecting / sheltering her.

Each brother is trying to look out for her best interest. Sadly those interest is what they perceive what she needs. Like most men they are not concerned with what she really wants or needs. Each think they know best and neither is actually correct.

Jesse is our hero who has Cherokee heritage and is proud of this fact. He tried to honor his grandmother by following her belief's.

Although he'd been raised as a Christian in his Irish father's house, Jesse kept the ways of his grandmother's people close to his heart. He honored his elders. He believed in the kinship of All Things. He honored the spirit of the land and the creatures that dwelled within it.

Jesse and his best friend Cass is just a couple of good ol' boys. They are trying to make their way in an expanding world. Trying to stay on the right side of the law but was drawn into some bad stuff when young and very impressionable.

One thing I did not understand was why Jesse lied to Cass about what he was planning. If they are the best of friends why would Jesse feel he needed to lie about seeking out help from Sera? But looking at this as a woman, men always have some crazy ideas.

"There's some land east of here that's sacred to the Cherokees. I'm going to visit it. Go on a Vision Quest."

First I confused myself, after reading book 2.5 Shady Lady (Pistols & Petticoats) I convienced myself that this book was about Cass and Sadie. After I finally realized my mistake (around Chapter 5) I really got into the book. I almost started over reading but was more concerned with finishing. I quickly put everything together and realized how Cass and Sadie's full story was not ready to be told, yet.

The best part of the book for me and I agree with Adrienne is the wedding ceremony. I pictured this so clear in my head it felt like I was there with Jesse and Sera. It was wonderful.

I am personally eagerly waiting book 4. However while I am waiting I plan on reading book 2. Somehow I have missed that book. Thankfully these are stand alone reads. It does help to understand the characters and some actions but not necessary.

Once again thanks for a wonderful read Adrienne. You have taken me back to the 1800's. A time I dearly love to visit.
