Story was okay. I just wasn't that interested though I did finish the book.

The hero is attacked in the cathedral and gets locked inside after the last service. One would think his wife could avoid getting locked inside at the end of the day later in the book. Spoiler below.







And then there's the cartoonishly outlandish Catholic machinations. What twaddle.

When two painting are stolen from the home of Lord Melrose, Mycroft Holmes is asked to investigate. A quick easy read but not a lot of depth to the mystery.

Lord Francis Powerscourt is called in by the household of the Prince of Wales when in 1891 Prince Eddy his eldest son is found murdered.
At times there was a bit too much description which for me slowed the pace of the story but still an enjoyable mystery.
