This is quite a concise review of the life of King Charles I covering mainly the reactionary events that steered the course of history during is reign, including the causes of the civil war and ultimately his capture and murder, or execution depending upon what view of history one subscribes too.

It would be a good starting point for people unfamiliar with the events in England during King Charles I's life to then read about the specific events of interest in greater detail.

The third and second last sentences of this book surmise the overall events quite succinctly: "James, for the time, destroyed the dignity of Royalty. Charles restored it, but at the cost of his life."… (mais)
