Dray tells an epic story, from the rise of the great mills in Lowell to the recent closing of Detroit’s auto yards. He is joined by Ryan Gilliam, director of The Waistmakers' Opera, a rock musical about the 1909 ILGWU strike in which 20,000 women walked off the job.
