Cassie and Walter are back and doing their thing in The Bay Area. Current crimes and past history mix and mingle nicely in this current episode of a feud that started in the Gold Rush days of San Francisco.

I downloaded this a fair while ago but for some reason I just wasn't in the mood for it when I inititally tried. Today however was perfect for me. This was a really nice read, well constucted without telegraphing what was going to happen.

I'll be adding this author to my 'watch out for' list.

This one is on my Kindle Fire currently as a 'back up book'. A twist on a murder mystery. My husband has finished it and keeps citing the book in our conversations so it must be fairly good LOL

These folks know their rocks. An overturned raft and a dead body set Cassie and Walt off on a search and survey of the Colorado River Canyons; their only clue is a bag of pebbles caught in a rope on the raft. An excellent look at the geology and vulnerability of this really important source of water for many western states. Some innovative skullduggery is discovered via a raft trip that turns into a serious accident. A very good entry in this interesting and informative series.
