Written from 2 separate points of view: Kyle, who is now a businessman, lonely and occasionally dating, staring at the moon whilst thinking of the girl he loved before he went to college; Sadie, whose childhood was spent with drunken and abusive parents, who loved Kyle back, but never talked to him after he left for college.

7 years later, and the two of them have never really moved on from the pain and the hurt. The first part of the book is spent as the two of them slowly manage to get back in touch with each other via the internet.

They finally meet up, and the pain is still there. Kyle finally presses Sadie to explain what happened, and he neither likes nor believes the answer. His mother is long dead, her parents are long out the picture, and it takes a discussion with and reality check from his father for him to understand what could have gone on.

This is a short novel, reflecting the worries and fears of people who have never really moved on from their first love, and where people can get if they think that the people around them support them. It's light on the adult themes (only one scene, near the end) and generally inoffensive for those who like their romances light.
