Okay, I can see how it would be useful to know how to gut and cook my chickens- if I was planning to do that. I admit that I found that part pretty disturbing. There were useful egg recipes, however, so this book isn't geared one way or the other. The book covers things that are necessary, but not obvious, such as how to clip the wings, and potential health issues. There are some interesting tips, and I've got to say that I was amused by the way to find out which chicken will be the best for raising chicks- put out a nest of fake eggs and see who sits on it! The downside of the book is that it doesn't have a lot of pictures, but it might be a wonderful compliment to another poultry book that is less well-rounded.… (mais)
