Maybe I went looking in the wrong place, but I was hoping for a book that concentrated on the roots of the nurse practitioner movement and the theory around it, as well as why certain specialties became institutionalized and which university programs played roles in the development of different directions. I also wanted something that would contextualize nurse practitioners with their fellow APPs--physician assistants--rather than focusing on differentiation from and conflict with physicians and non-NP nurses.

This book, alas, does not do any of that.… (mais)
