I mean it’s okay, I suppose. I liked the emphasis on sins being forgiven once for all, but I don’t like substitutionary atonement models. These take away from the love of God by making God subject to God’s own law and promised punishments (see Jeremiah 18 for a different view).

While some people might be hesitant to believe in the idea of heaven on Earth, pastor and professor Farley develops an interesting theory. Because there is nothing separating us from speaking to God this very moment, we do have access to heaven here on Earth. While we cannot ignore the pain and sin still here, we nevertheless can feel, hear, see, smell, and taste the sweetness and splendor of heaven here and now through prayer, meditation, Scripture reading, witnessing, and singing.

I enjoyed this book very much, I love all of Andrew Farley's books and his take on Christ and Christianity. While he is a pastor of a non denominational church, which is not my faith tradition or the type of Christianity I was exposed to most of my life, his loving and gentle approach to Christianity and not making people, especially those of us with heavily tarnished wings, to feel bad about ourselves, feel too shamed, unforgiven, unloved and hell bound, like those fire and brimstone type of pastors, which is also not part of my tradition, but seen enough of them on tv.

I enjoy all of Andrew Farley's books whether they will one day when we are all dead, be proven to be right or not ( sorry for the bluntness ! ). He is a massive believer that constant and never ending striving 'to be good', repetance, never feeling good enough, right enough or Christian enough is all wrong and once Chrisst died on the cross for us, he paid the price for all our sins for always, which you will not hear in many places. If you don't go to a fire and brimstone sort of church, and go to an easy going one, you will still hear the constant need to striving to do good and do right and confess your sins on a regular basis.

Andrew threw all this out of the window, so I suspect the ones amongst us with tarnished wings ( like me ) this is a huge relief, for the folks who have every line of the Bible memorized and come from a should and should not, and must and must not ideology, he is not for you.
