About the Author

Timothy Ferriss is an American author and public speaker. In 2007, he published The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich, which was a New York Times, Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestseller. Ferriss grew up in East Hampton, NY and graduated from St. Paul's School. mostrar mais He received a degree in Neuroscience and East Asian Studies from Princeton University. Before the release of the 4HWW, Ferriss was an unknown. He marketed the book heavily through bloggers with whom he created personal relationships. He has since been praised for this technique. He has also taken the position that technology such as email, instant messaging and internet-enabled PDAs complicate life rather than simplify it. His teachings fit under the umbrella of what he calls "Lifestyle Design," which he positions as an alternative to the "deferred-life" career path where one would work a 9 to 5 job until retirement in their 60s. This is a big one! It's chock full of great thoughts, processes, ideas and more from Tim Ferriss' interviews with all sorts of "elites". There are a ton of things that I could see myself using and lots of books and websites I'm going to research. There's also a LOT of stuff in here I would just never do. But we're all different ... what works for me might not work for you. Definitely worth picking up and browsing through.

Ferriss has broken the book into three sections: Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise. So pick the section that pertains most to your needs and start reading. I sat down and read through the whole thing, front to back. Probably a little too much all at once.… (mais)

Second time I've read this book and I get something out of it each time. Just a fantastic book to shape your ideas of what your work day should look like, what your worth is, and how you want to spend your time.

It's a little dated because it was released so long ago, so ignore most of the links in there. But the concepts are sound.

Fun tricks but for most people this won’t work... We still do not understand diet.

This book is no longer important for its content as it is for it capturing a particular moment in history where networks could be leveraged with minimal costs by everyone. Today the world is much more complex and I think this sort of approach would not work.

Ferris is a kind of strange hack genious...
