Taylor Barnes, a cosmetic surgeon, is a new hire at Greenvale Hospital. Taylor needs this job to prove to herself and others she can do surgery without falling into the bottle again. There are strange things going on at Greenvale. Taylor finds a figurine under her steps with a knife in it. Are they trying to scare her off? Should she return to New York? Taylor chooses to stick it out and strange occurrences continue. Then people start mysteriously dying.

Ten years before the story starts two friends are lost in the amazon jungle and find a native tribe. This tribe has it's own customs and beliefs. When they are eventually rescued they return to America with different knowledge.

Ten years later Kate Martin, a burnt out ER doctor, takes a job as PR for a pharmaceutical company, Randall-Weber, who have a miracle drug, Genelife, that restores youth. However as she researches she finds that there are secrets and lies.

It's tolerable, not the best of it's type but definitely not the worst. There are times when the story lags and the relationships seem to be put there as padding rather than move the story forward.… (mais)
