Pansie Hart Flood

This is a book children will easily relate to because the narrator, Tiger, has a breezy style. He likes to make up rap songs and uses a lot of humor, like when he says one reason he likes his art teacher is because she's "not old" (p. 27) and lets the children listen to "popular music" in class (p. 34).

This would be a good book to read outloud to a second grade class during a unit on friendship and conflict. Students could learn about the different conflicts in literature and identify those in the story. They could make t-charts of when Donna and Tiger make good or poor decisions and could suggest better courses of action when the characters make a poor decision.… (mais)
