This book tells the story of a father and a daughter taking a camping trip across Loon Lake. During this trip the father explains the old Tsimshian story of the Loon’s magical powers. They eventually find a family of loons and watch as they gracefully swim across the water. Overall I thought this was an okay book, I feel it was interesting however not very exciting. I can tell this would be something a young student would get bored reading.

A good story about an interesting type of bird, the Loon. The Loon is a very unique bird that dives underneath the water unlike the ducks. Ducks swim over the water only and not under. This book is for K-3 graders who are interested in learning about animals. The narrators are a father and a daughter who tell the students about the Loon and their way around the lake.
