I enjoyed this short biography. The author originally published this under a different title but it has been updated and amended.

Somewhat unbelievably, the author, an evangelical Christian, decides to attend a Mormon/Latter Day Saints University in America. The university accepts students who are not of the LDS faith, no doubt with the primary purpose of converting them. It seems she was partly motivated by a scholarship but also by some who said that she could do "some good there." I find it incredible that someone would put themselves in this position. The author eventually leaves the university for a more normal education about halfway through her 4 year course.

The author discovers how difficult it is to live in the midst of the LDS, with their different rules, separate holy book and sincere attempts to convert everyone. I think she realises her naivety fairly early on, but despite this, to her credit, she remains in the situation and trusts that God will work it for good. She becomes heavily involved in the Student Baptist group within the university and helps other Christian students struggling to hold onto their faith.

One of the confusing aspects about LDS is that they believe they also are Christians and will state this in basic conversation. It is really necessary to dig deeper as this book demonstrates, to uncover the truth about this cult.

This book, although slightly dated, will help those who want a basic overview of LDS doctrine and how it works out practically. I appreciated the honesty of the author and her determination to stick to the truth of the Bible whatever the cost. However, I'm not sure that I would recommend a young believer placing themselves in a situation like this with no support/fellow believers to keep them on track.

This book is clean, there is no bad language, violence or sexual content.
