A short book and a quick read for a 75+ year history of the Steeler franchise. The author tries to pull out the good (The Chief), the bad (SOS) and the ugly (Big Daddy Lipscomb) to describe the uneven history of the team. Sidebars give additional descriptions and short trivia questions punctuate the chapters.

I enjoyed reading some highlites that are pulled from the tons of stories about the team, particularly during the 70s. I question some of the editing. For example, there is a picture of Hines Ward and Ben Roethlisberger celebrating a win in January 2006 in the midst of an article about Mean Joe Greene from December 1974.

A good book for the casual fan that doesn't have the depth of information that the Steeler Nation has.
