D. Gary Young (1949–2018)

1/26/2022 UPDATE - I have gone through this book, by Gary Young, founder of Young Living, with a fine-tooth comb and compared product against product, ingredient against ingredient, to Young Living’s current products advertised today online.

Literally, the ONLY 2 “blended” essential oils that have remained exactly the same, listing the ingredients in the original order as Gary Young had them, is Thieves Essential Oil and Christmas Spirit. [NOTE: The book doesn’t say whether or not the ingredients of the “blended” oils are listed in ingredient order; although, it is common to do so.]

I do realize that it is highly likely that some oils are impossible to come by today. But, I’m not so convinced that the altered oils with their substitutes are truly tested for efficacy. The names are retained, but some of these blends are a completely new oil. Do we still trust Gary Young’s uses for those oils? Or is this health book completely out-of -date?

I guess you’ll have to decide for yourself. Meanwhile, I think I will just stick to DIY recipes using the single essential oils and the “blended” oils that have not changed over the years until I find proof that those substitutes are safe to use as Gary Young intended.

I only know that oil is used during massages, this book introduced me to its other essential use specially to one's health in relation to psychological as well as physical well-being. Its basic use are more on to aromatherapy that can provide holistic treatment. This book also gave instructions on how to make your own home essential oil that can help you save up rather than splurging on expensive oils. It can be used for weight loss, longevity, stress relief or beauty regimen. Its benefits has been widely discussed, this book i very helpful and informative as it talks almost everything about essential oils can offer.… (mais)
