This was the first book of Kabbalah that I ever owned, in the spiral bound, colored paper edition (which I still have). Reb Yonassan's simple and short explanations of the Sephirot are very accessible and the process of counting the Omer is a real blessing. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. I am so glad that Reb Yonassan has made it available electronically.

Granted, many of the things that were referred to were obvious (Vulcan salute anyone?) there are others I did not think about until I read this book such as the similarities between Jews and say Bajorans. This book covers TOS; TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT (also a little TAS) and all movies up to "Reboot" (aka 2009) as well as many of the books. I did find some factual errors such as how many Jews have been in space, Rabbi Gershom never checked the Russian side as there were Jewish cosmonauts, but all in all an interesting read.… (mais)

This is a continuation of "Beyond the Ashes" which was a very compelling and interesting to read book. If you are into reincarnation (which Judaism does believe in) and are into Holocaust stories, this is an interesting read. What I was amazed by is the fact that one of the stories told an unusual about there being a type of soul hospital which was remarkably similar to a dream I had last year! It's quite amazing and if nothing else it is an interesting story.
