tl;dr Great book if you're new to preparedness, or if as a woman, your man handles prep logistics.

This book spends the first half convincing you that preparedness is a worthwhile thing. Considering I'm writing this during a cold snap that's dropping snow all over the US South, I find this kind of amusing and sort of "duh!", although the fact that weather reports send people scurrying to store shelves still means this way of thinking isn't yet typical.

The second half of the book is stories of women and their personal journey to prepping. It was interesting, but nothing I didn't already know. Again, for someone who's never thought about it, it was probably entirely fascinating.

If you have family or friends who still don't have an emergency kit, or a radio, or a flashlight, or a week's worth of food and water put by, then this is a great book for them. If you're beyond that, give this a pass.… (mais)
