Bernard Glemser (1908 in London – April 3, 1990 in New York) was a writer of fiction, non-fiction, and children's books. He served in the Royal Air Force as an intelligence officer during World War II, and then worked in the United States for the government of Britain for a few years. Subsequently he devoted himself to writing, and his first novel, Love for Each Other, appeared in 1946.

One of his novels, Girl on the Wing, was made into a movie entitled Come Fly With Me (then re-issued as The Fly Girls). Glemser also used pen names--as Robert Crane, he wrote science fiction, notably Hero's Walk (1954), and as Geraline Napier, romances. In nonfiction, he wrote Man Against Cancer (1969) based on his interviews with notable cancer researchers.

Glemser's books for children, such as All About the Human Body and All About Biology, were translated into many languages and distributed in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East by UNESCO.

Extremely readable 1960's rom-com type stuff that would have made an adorable movie or TV series of that era.
Could have done without the couple of references to married men taking the lead character out on dates. Other than that, an enjoyably wild and fluffy ride through a big-city bridal department with a competent but just about to lose her mind girl-in-charge and a stern, strict, hate him until you don't, floor manager.

Polished it off in one evening, easy. Recommend if you are looking for something that will remind you of... like I said, some Doris Day style 1960's "charm" and tug of war between the genders.… (mais)

The son of Bob Crane writes about his life with his father and their close relationship. He doesn't make him into a saint or a monster, but a very sick man. Well written, easy to read.

A young bridal gown consultant's life is made difficult by a boss who wants to run her department "by the book." Fun novel about the goings on in a department store bridal department.
