This is a pamphlet intended for tourists (though I apparently bought it for $.25 at a flea market somewhere instead of on one of my visits to the mound. Huh.) So it's not terribly in-depth, but it covers a lot of material very well, structured around the history of the interpretation of the mound rather than the archeological data itself, with also a section on the weird geology of the area.

I especially appreciated all the old photographs , dating back to the 1800s, of the mound and the ways it has been used (and abused) by white people.… (mais)
