Richelle E. Goodrich was born in Utah but spent most of her childhood and adult life in Central Washington where she raised three amazing young men and then sent them off to college. The author now resides in Oklahoma, enjoying the blessings of a new, happy marriage. In her twenties, Richelle graduated from Eastern Washington University with bachelor's degrees in Liberal Studies and Natural Science / Mathematics Education, but she has always had a strong love of the arts. She sketches, paints, plays some piano and guitar, writes original stories and poetry, keeps a running blogsite, and has acted in theatrical plays. Richelle loves growing as an author, and writes new material whenever opportunity presents itself. She describes herself beautifully in the following quote:

“I like bubbles in everything. I respect the power of silence. In cold or warm weather, I favor a mug of hot cocoa. I admire cats—their autonomy, grace, and mystery. I awe at the fiery colors in a sunset. I believe in deity. I hear most often with my eyes, and I will trust a facial expression before any accompanying comment. I invent rules, words, adventures, and imaginary friends. I pretend something wonderful every day. I will never quit pretending.”

This book felt old. Not of a distant past, but a stretch of effort. It was hard to connect with and felt like it was meant to tell a story, although not written in prose. Unfortunately, if in fact a story, was disconnected and indiviualistic. Like a personnel journal of interest only to the writer.

A Heart Made of Tissue Paper by Richelle E. Goodrich was a great read! The poetry is incredibly relatable regardless of what mood you're in and what stage of life you're at. Poems for every emotion are heartfelt and thoughtful. With the type and style of poetry changing throughout the book, and some cute drawings here and there, I never got tired of reading.
