Delia Gray-Durant

One of the better tourist guides to Southwestern France, this book concentrates on significant events and notable sights to see in this region. Unlike traditional guides which concentrate on restaurants and selected hotels, this one concentrates of the history, art and architecture of the towns and villages. Well written, and dateless since it speaks of dated events. Excellent guide for self-driving tours of the area.

I used this while visiting Paris recently and found it quite useful, more for the plans of some of the museums and what was available around the venues than anything else.

It's a useful tool for a short visit to Paris or as an addition to another guide. Small and portable with fairly detailed maps it helped our visit.
