Frances Greenslade

I found it difficult to get into this one. The cover art does nothing for me, and after a couple of chapters I wasn't feeling it. Maybe just the wrong book at the wrong time for me.

Although this book was geared towards teens, I found it very appealing. The challenges they faced and how they overcame them were interesting.

Francie life is as far away from perfect as possible; just really down right tragic. Francie ends up at a wilderness survival school for girls. I was anticipating it would be a girl version of Hatchet; while it did have these vibes it is its own adventure. The author has done a great job building the characters so that the reader wants to know what will happen to them.

I received this book from the publisher. Overall, I enjoyed the book and it was an easy read. I think I would have enjoyed it more if there had been more background given at the beginning of the book. The adventures of the girls kept me reading and made it a page turner. I hoping to story will continue.
