I read this series for the first time in middle school and decided to reread the first novel here on a whim after seeing some people talk about it. Since it was published in 1999, it's definitely a tad dated, but still full of girl power, sass, and music. I still think this is a great series for young readers!

This is a book about Pashmina Purrstien and her friend who are fashionistas. They all want to win a fashion challenge that their school is hosting. They have three weeks till November to create a theme, work on costumes, and also design a stage for the catwalk. But for the first time in the history of their school the winning groups fashion will be documented in a ten style network reality show. The show is called Catwalk Strike a Pose which begins airing next spring. But Pashmina and her group face a crisis that will threaten to unravel their chance to fashion stardom.

i thought that this book was really good. This book reminded me about my friends and me. Sometimes at school like in World Geo we are assigned groups. Most of the time I'm the leader in the group. thats how it got such a good rating. some days we all have other things to do so we ant all be there at meetings to figure out how we are going to work on our project. But this book helped me figure out how to overcome those days. Also this book showed me how to figure out how to work without everyone at the meetings when we need them.

As a student at Fashion International High School, Pashmina has her sights set high.

She's entered a competition to create her own fashion line, and she's got multitudes of ideas. Along with her three best friends, they'll compete for a chance at a fabulous career, a scholarship, and their own show.

CATWALK is a lively and energetic novel that is tons of fun. Though it is endlessly engaging, the constant use of the girls' personal jargon does grate on the nerves rather than come off as fun and whimsical like THE CONFESSIONS OF GEORGIA NICOLSON series. However, if readers can get past that, they're in for a fun and wild adventure through the fashion world, where the only size that matters is the size of your style.

This is a wonderful read for those girls who've outgrown The Cheetah Girls.
