How did it take me this long to read this??!!

Stiles begins to leave notes for Derek. Then one day Derek begins to leave them back. I am certain that this would be Jane Austen's favorite Sterek.

I LOVE this fic. Big debate on how to rate this though. The whole epistolary concept is ten stars for me - I completely loved watching them woo each other via these notes. But there were two issues that really made this fic stumble for me: (first spoiler point not a big deal, second spoiler point you might want to steer clear of if you haven't read the fic yet, it is a climatic moment in the fic).
1.) It isn't that big a deal, but the fact that Danny is Stiles' ex. Blah. I don't like reading Stiles with someone else and also Danny is not good looking and he is the most UNINTERESTING character on that show. He does nothing for me, totally unexcited about Danny. But really that only loses it like a quarter of a star. 2.) What loses it the other three quarters of a star is the scene in/ outside of the club. WTF Derek? I had to reread this scene to figure out what Derek's reaction was all about. What I came up with (and I don't even know if my guess is correct, I am just reaching reasons why Derek reacted like that) I drew from this line:

"I spend years, Stiles, years telling myself that I can't have you, that I'm disgusting for even thinking about it, that you'd be horrified, that I've clearly been warped beyond all fucking belief by--" Derek cuts himself off harshly, ...

So I am guessing even though he doesn't finish that sentence, he was going to say, "Kate" and that he has been punishing himself for having this attraction for underage Stiles as a result of being abused by Kate when he was underage - Yes? No? Am I reaching? It is the only thing I can figure out how to explain his reaction.

At any rate, taking this fic in as a whole it is easy to brush those two niggles aside and gush over how creative, well written and simply endearing this fic is. I enjoyed it so much it will probably be a reread for me at some point. I love the quirky Stereks, the ones where you can see moment by moment these two falling in love with each other - quietly and in their own weirdly believable manner. Brilliant.
