This book was my first read from the author and I’m glad I got the chance to read it. I really enjoyed the suspense and mystery throughout the book. The characters were great and the storyline was like a true situation. The book held my attention the entire time and was hard to put down. The story is of someone being killed and your best friend doesn’t believe what was being said about the killing. So this leads him to either do what is right for his friend’s family and find out what really happened and ruin his career or just push it under the rug.. I enjoyed it and plan on reading more from the author.… (mais)

*I received this book via Goodreads Giveaways*

This is a story about a father who sinks his money into cancer research to find a cure for his young son, and fails. The death of his son changes him into a bitter, greedy man. He "miraculously" survives a plane crash.

This is my 2nd DNF book today. This one also has a religious element that is overly preachy that I don't care for. It's also written like an action filled, mutated Lifetime movie.

REVIEW: Fast paced thriller that introduces the far-reaching consequences of power shifts in the oil and energy field. Even though there were times that the odds seemed insurmountable, the story was plausible enough to keep me fascinated. Thoroughly enjoyed this book. This is my voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

DESCRIPTION, NOT REVIEW: In a darkened warehouse in Colombia, a father of two and the second highest-ranking executive in one of the largest oil companies in the world is murdered in what the company claims is a botched kidnapping attempt. Three thousand miles away, on a rock wall in New Mexico, a renowned environmental scientist and experienced climber falls to his death. The two deaths are linked by a deadly conspiracy to conceal a discovery that could end global warming, bring oil companies to their knees, and change the balance of power and wealth in the world overnight.

When 33-year-old Nathan Robbins refuses to accept his company’s implausible account of the death of his mentor and friend, he’s risks everything he’s worked for all his life. Determined to uncover the truth, he follows a lead that takes him to New Mexico where he discovers he has to rely on the help of Jessica Adams, an attractive environmentalist who despises the Big Oil that he represents. Trapped between his company’s greedy CEO and a ruthless United States Senator, they race against time, following a trail that takes them from high in the wilderness to the heart of the U.S. Senate. But first they must find the key at the birthplace of the most powerful force the world has ever known—and stay alive to tell their story.

It is an honor to be the first one to review this book. When I first picked it up I had no idea what to expect. What I found was one of the most creative premises for a story that I have read in years. Even if the protagonist's uncle says dude a few to many times and that I guessed ahead what was going to happen at the end it did not detract from my enjoyment. The book centers around the issue of evolution which for some is still an issue. I am not going to tell you the story which will destroy your discoveries as you read it. You really need to read the book with an open mind and it will blow you away. Book two and three if they are as good as the first one should be dynamite. If Mr. Hadden continues to write thinking outside the box like he does in this book will be one of my favorite writers. Treat yourself and buy this book.… (mais)
