Áhugaverð umfjöllun um sögu Kína. Ekki mikið greint frá tækni og hernaðarnýjungum en því meiri áhersla á pólitík og valdabaráttu. Nokkuð línuleg frásögn af ráðandi öflum í landinu og er þannig séð góð kynning á landi og menningu. Dýpri greining og vangaveltur þarf að leita annars staðar enda kannski ekki við öðru að búast þegar farið er svo hratt yfir 5000 ára sögu Kínaveldis.

Am currently listening to this as an audiobook. The pace and amount of detail suit my needs at this point, I quite like the presentation. I want a pretty basic introduction to the whole field and these talks work for me.

So boring it felt like 5000 years for this to be over. That's a little harsh, because really this is just too large a period of time for anything other than a general overview. Hammond wasn't best speaker I've heard in this series either. At 18 discs, maybe it would have been better just to hit the Wikipedia entry about China first and then go from there.
