My son and I used Appendix C, Table 1, Cumulative Normal Probabilities, to write a Taylor Series in the development of a telephone traffic queuing equation that estimates Grade of Service (probability of the next caller getting a busy signal) and the number of trunks needed in a route to achieve a P=.01 Grade of Service using the Erlang-B formula. My resulting QuickBASIC program, TRAFFIC.BAS, takes the direct calculation approach by formula rather than the tedious table look up approach used by South Central Bell for determining the Grade of Telephone Service at the institution where I was employed.… (mais)
