My Year in Oman por Matthew Heines
I'll try again some other time. I can get past clunky writing, or I can get past assertions by the author about what I'm like, but not both. I just can't get beyond the foreward. I flipped around a bit, thinking I could try being non-linear, and in a ransom series of pages encountered three different people sighing as a synonym for "saying" ("[text],' she sighed). So, no.

Another Year in Oman: Between Iraq and a Hard Place… por Matthew Heines

A masterpiece of story telling, humor and romantic books in the old tradition but is it really just a story? The author. lonely and despondent, seeks to develop personal relationships, or at least he doesn't go to any lengths to avoid them, and then he ends up in the most unthinkable relationship in Arabia.
