Easygoing history of a never-terribly-successful railroad that operated in the hinterlands of New York State. A fair number of the anecdotes relate to assorted accidents, poor managerial decisions, economic disasters, and having to make do with second-class equipment. Yet there are the compensations of the beautiful scenery within the railroad's service area, which are shown by a lot of nice photographs. An obscure railroad, so unless you're in New York State, this book may not be for you. If you are in New York State, on the other hand, this book probably IS for you.… (mais)
