K. K. Hendin

So I will be completely blunt! I am not Jewish or even overly religious. But I was very curious to read this Chanukah romance. So I settled down, thinking that I would read the first book and four hours later, I surfaced from my reading haze, completely in love with this book.
I LOVED Megan Hart's book Miracle, not just because she is an amazing author, but because she set the book in a city close to me. Jennifer Gracen book A Dose of Gelt; is a story about when you allow the outside world to affect your feelings. This book had me crying in sadness and Happiness. Home for Chanukah by Stacey Agdern, was an enlightening tale of the generosity of such a wonderful women and a man that struggles with change. Finally All I Got by KK Hendin story is about finding love, when you were least expecting it.
These are four completely different books, written by four amazing authors that embrace not only finding love, religion but also sharing what Chanukah means to them.
With all that being said, I give Burning Bright a very heartfelt 10 out of 10!

Beautiful Little Fool by K.K. Hendin is a 2015 publication. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is my first book by this author, so I had no idea what to expect, but I thought the blurb sounded intriguing, so I signed on to review it.

Well, this one certainly is interesting, I 'll give it that. It's hard to review books like this because I don't want to give anything away. I do think many people will be surprised by it because it doesn't really fit into any specific category, and I don't imagine anyone will know what they are in for when they pick it up. I admit that as I got a few chapters in, the story had a New Adult tone to it, (which had me worried because I've pretty much sworn off NA), but no, it's definitely not New Adult, although you do get two perspectives and are privy to Cedar and Ellis' thoughts, the book is a third person narrative.

Once I finished the book I was a tiny bit shell shocked at first, but the more a thought about it, the more I liked it. This is a wicked little story with lots of twist and turns and a shocking conclusion I never suspected was coming.

So, the author gets high marks for imagination, for storytelling outside the box, and for weaving a tale of intrigue and mystery that kept me wondering what was going on, and what would happened next, which kept me engaged from start to finish.

Heart Breaths by K.K. Hendin is a beautiful story of loss, love, pain, guilt and redemption.

Maddie has suffered one too many tragedies. One too many betrayals. She is out, gone, leaving her life behind. She is leaving Manhattan far behind in her rearview and winds up in Eno, North Carolina. A sleepy little coastal town. Can the people she meets here manage to get through her walls and into her heart?

Day by day Maddie's past loses the grip it has on her heart and her hope. She slowly gains more confidence in her self and her choices and lets the guilt of her past go.

A beautiful story with some very goose-bumpy, hair-raising moments that will completely surprise you.… (mais)
