After reading and loving Ivory Guard I dived straight into Ebony Fight. The story picks up where Ivory Guard left off but without Lillian and Raz as the central characters. This is very much Becca's story and it is a compelling one.

To me, Becca is one of the most honest characters in that she doesn't paint herself as wholly good or wholly bad, even though in my eyes she is quite saintly. She acknowledges her inner demons and fights to stay true to her own beliefs and good intentions. I love how she is able to use magic and uses it selflessly to save others.

She has undertaken the task of spreading the word among the demon world which garners her the wrong kind of attention resulting in Stone, an assassin, being sent to kill her. He doesn't pose much of a threat to her as it isn't long before he is falling in love with her. However, it isn't just Satan that needs convincing. Stone isn't the only one out to stop Becca and the threat may be closer to home than they realise.

The Guard Duet series is irresistible and I recommend it to all readers of paranormal, fantasy and romance.

A brilliant introduction to a new series that I can't wait to read more of.

I don't dip into fantasy very often but when I do it has to be for something that will grab my attention and keep me wanting to read right to the end. The Ivory Guard does that and more.

There are a lot things that I liked about this novel. Lillian's initial jolt from normal teenage life to that of the guard where death could be just around the corner had me sympathising for her while anticipating the adventures and fights she would ultimately get into. The action begins almost immediately where Lillian has to fight demons in her own home before she is taken away under the protection of the angel Raz. The pace doesn't slow down after this.

Lillian is a mysterious and interesting character. In her human life she is a bookworm but even as an Ivory Guard there is more to her than meets the eye. The fight scenes between the demons and the Ivory Guard are exciting, made more so by the fact that demons are a real threat and well able to kill angels and Ivory Guards. I couldn't help but wonder if all of Lillian's team would make it to the end.

Lillian's relationship with and growing love for Raz is complicated and dangerous which makes for entertaining reading between fight scenes.
I liked the side characters, especially Becca, and I can't wait to read her adventure in the next book.

Snapshots is a great collection of stories, ranging from funny, witty, emotional and sad.
These stories show different aspects of life, with a range of characters who are strong and well written.
I enjoyed these a lot, they may be short, but that's what gives them such a charm.
A good quick read.

I received a copy of Blue Moon Rising from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review. I have to say I loved it! The story takes place in Paris and Natalie does a brilliant job of bringing the streets of Paris to life, making me want to move there tomorrow. Maiwenn is the protector of Paris, the protector looks after the supernatural creatures of Paris, investigating crimes and making sure they are not discovered by humans.

Maiwenn also works as a pranormal private eye during the day so her schedule is more than full when she finally gets some new people in her life in the form of Pauline, a fairy she finds dancing in a fountain and Kylian a very hot shapeshifter sent to her by the council. While Maiwenn is out patrolling Paris she comes upon the bodies of 5 shapeshifters and many more supes are reported missing or dead, and she has a rogue werewolf on her hands that she must track down before any other humans are hurt. After reporting to the council they send her Kylian to help investigate.

Maiwenn is a kick ass kinda chick who has been the Protector since she was a teen, she hasn't had much normal so the people who are important to her she will defend to the death. She has a really cool and original backstory but no spoiler you have to read to the end to find out! The relationship between her and Kylian is waaaaay hot but it does sorta end leaving you wanting much much more.

I thoroughly enjoyed Blue Moon Rising and I will get my self over to Amazon soon to grab the second book . I recommend this to all Urban Fantasy fans.
