About the Author
Joan Hohl was born June 13, 1935 in United States. She worked at several jobs, some sales clerking, but primarily factory work. At 40, she began writing, and three years later she published her first novel. Joan Hohl has written about fifty novels in over twenty years. She is creditied at being one mostrar mais of the first if not the first author to write male point of view in category romance novels. She has received numerous awards including the Romance Writers of America Rita Award, the Romantic Times' Reviewer's Choice Award, the Sensuous Writer of the Year Award, and the 1986 Romance Writers of America Golden Medallion for A Much Needed Holiday. Come Home To Love (Signature Select) por Joan Hohl
This is one of those older "we're married, but he doesn't love me, so I have to hide the fact that I love him, and we have a bunch of misunderstandings" books. It wasn't as bad as most, because, with the exception of him raping her on their wedding night, he's not horribly mean to her, just negligent. Still not my favorite storyline.
The women were just not strong enough personalities. They acted like puppets to these men.

There were two stories in one in this.
The first was the MD's Mistress by Joan Hohl. Nurse Becca Jameson has worked herself into exhaustion in an underfunded and understaffed African hospital. She's been working with Dr Seth Andrews and both of them are trying to avoid the attraction that they have for each other. When they get back to the US Becca gets an offer to recouperate in a remote cabin, a generous offer from a secret benefactor. Dr Andrews discovers that he misses her and things change when he visits.
Light stuff, predictable but not bad.
The second story is The Money Man's Seduction, Cole Preston is certain that his grandmother is being taken for a ride by Emily Raines, just like she's being taken for a ride by many other people who appear to be good but turn out to be scammers, what he finds surprises him and may change his life.
It's not a bad story, the two main characters are quite interesting people and I liked their romance story.
Overall both stories were fun, nothing earth-shattering but a diverting read.… (mais)
