Interspersed with the recipes are pieces from humanitarians such as Nelson Mandela and Aung San Suu Kyi, as well as stories of survival and determination from the women who are part of WfWI's programs. Every page brims with celebration: pictures of the beaming survivors, delicious recipes, and ultimately the triumph of women who've gone from victimhood to independence.
