A very enjoyable book about the home life with Mama Cat and Papa Cat that five kittens enjoy. The illustrations were enjoyable as well.

I enjoyed reading this book because it portrayed a very positive, loving, and funny marriage between two alligators. Many children these days have poor viewpoints about love due to their parent's experiences, and this book helps change the misconception that love doesn't exist. I enjoyed this book for the following reasons: the illustrations and the language. Throughout the text, the book accurately portrays the portions of the wedding. For example, when the bride and groom are taking each other's hands in marriage, the scene shows just that with the pope beside them. Additionally, when the male is told, 'You may kiss the bride,' the author writes, "Then he planted a kiss, a big slurpy kiss, on the brides long, bumpy snout..." I enjoyed this language because it explains the kiss between the two alligators perfectly. The adjectives used in this sentence draw a picture for the reader. By using words like, "slurpy" and "bumpy," the readers are able to visualize two alligators kissing; not two humans. I enjoy this because it is humorous and entertaining. When an author writes for young children, it is important to be descriptive, and I believe that the author did a great job at achieving this goal. The overall idea of the story is to portray the significance of loyalty and love between two people, or animals.… (mais)

Poetry book about Alligators getting married. The pictures are wonderful and vibrant and I like how it gives the animals a humanistic feel. This really is a modern day fable. My favorite part was at the end when the bride and groom were too heavy for the boat, so they had to take off their clothes and swim like normal alligators.
