Every day from the first to the 25th of December has scripture readings (not liturgy-based and if you want more than a memory verse, you have to have a Bible at hand to look up the "further readings"), a short story or fable or two (some of which read like they were written for Guideposts magazine), and additional material such as a brief prayer, a "family moment", practical suggestions, or a quote to ponder. You can use as much or as little of this material as you want. The short stories come from many different authors, including Hans Christian Andersen ("Little Match Girl"), O.
