A good overview of Spanish culture and its relationship to powers of state since 1960. My students in my Spanish cultural studies class found it to be very useful, if limited at times. My biggest concern about the book is that it lacks a foundation, or a cohesiveness -- a narrative, if you will -- that ties the various articles together in a way that would make them viable as a whole, rather than as an anthology only.
