We planned to walk the "Offa" northbound in July 2006. Bad move. Due to the heat I had to split from our small team after 15 days, in Chirk. I returned in May 2007 to walk the rest. Because my sister and I are an unorganised lot, we didn't get a map in time. So we took along this guidebook in a protective cover as our map'n'guide. A bit cumbersome, but worth it. The maps are standard OS maps 1:25000 and the Path is clearly marked, so you cannot go wrong. In one or two instances, the placing of the maps led to a bit of confusion, but the text of the guide clears that up, quickly. The guide also has a few circular walks off the Path, as well as a number of fine colour photographs. The "Useful Information" chapter points you in the right direction for obtaining up-to-date info on public transport (notoriously patchy) and accomodation (the annual "Where to stay" booklet, published by the Offa's Dyke Path Association, is the best source).… (mais)
