Too strange for my taste. So many questions were raised, but so few were answered. The plot and the world just kept getting weirder.

Note: I received a digital galley of this book through NetGalley.

I wish I could like this series more, but unfortunately the ending didn't make sense. I fell like there need to be a family tree or some more background information. The other problem could be the fact this series might read better in one read rather than waiting. By the time I read this volume, I forgot some of the story. However, the art in these books are worth the look.

I actually liked this series a lot more than I thought I would. Was looking threw it before and was debating whether or not to read it. I keep hearing people compare this to Fables and Y: The Last Man...it's not at all like them. I say this is more like Unwritten and Promethea.

This comic book is right up my alley to what I usually like in fantasy too. Anthropomorphic and homages to children's literature. The obvious one that sold me on this book actually was the Richard Scarry reference. It was a popular cartoon/book series back in the early 90s, so see it brought back a ton of good memories. The robot Harold in this book is also clearly a reference to Tik-Tok from the Oz books and the Return to Oz movie. I saw later on the artist makes references to various Sunday Funnies and even Little Nemo.

The art is probably the best thing about this book. I really like how the writer lets the artist play with this world of his. I think it's obvious she is have as much fun as the writer with this book. It kind of remind me of Manifest Destiny's art too.

I see on here this book isn't for everyone, but honesty it's better than what I heard. I think the problem is people might not get the plot. I thought it was a little confusing at first, but I also know from reading several other creator owned series they don't explain everything to you nor should they. They want you to get involved with the series and figure it out yourself.

I'm excited to keep reading this book. I think this might just be one of the best fantasy comics I've read in awhile.

What the what what? I think the next volume is the last. Kind of glad because this story is getting confusing.
