So far I've read 12 of the stories.

What strikes me is that despite being set at Christmas very few feel like Christmas stories.

This is a sweet and a bit bitter-sweet story. David is brilliant and a bit of a mess. Alex is amazing and has overcome so much and on his way to the top of the music field. The story isn’t perfect but then neither are the men. There are some coincidences that are a little hard to buy and David is too brooding and uncertain at times…actually I wanted to shake him most of the time. Alex is just too good to be true. Putting all that aside this series is a lot of fun to read and the characters are worth caring about.… (mais)

A great look at a different set of traditions around the New Year, this is like a yaoi manga told in non-manga format. Aero, the older man and a successful Japanese manga artist, falls for Daniel, who is much younger and an American. With both the cultural obstacles and the difference in age this could easily end in disaster. Lucky for me, it doesn't.

The telling of the story is almost lyrical and slightly wistful. I was swept along with Aero's thoughts, alternating with Daniel's clearly much younger way of looking at things. Compliments to Venona Keyes for creating such wonderful characters and giving them clear voices. With some delightful secondary characters to complete the picture, this is definitely a special story.

If you like May-December romances, if you enjoy learning about foreign cultures and their traditions, and if you're looking for a read that is as informative as it is fun, then you will probably like this short story.
