The action begins right away, following Flynt being chased by the police for suspected murder. 7 years earlier, Flynt used to be a Special Reconnaissance Operator and worked high-octane cases. In the present day, Flynt is in prison for a crime he didn't commit. The story moves back from the past to the present day, comparing his situation during both times while connecting the dots to why Flynt is where he is today. Told from Flynt's perspective, he demonstrates the time gaps in his memories since accepting a therapy experiment, waiting for his brain to play catch up. This is a descriptive and suspenseful story that is not a casual read.
