I adore squirrels and feed them all the time. This book was a mine of information about them including a piece that I had searched the internet for in vain for months.

Interesting book written in 1959 that talks about American POWs were coerced to provide help to the North Koreans and the Chinese. Some of the details provided in the book have been largely forgotten by the public. For instance, a US Army sergeant was courtmartialed after the war for killing two fellow POWs by leaving them in the cold. This brain washing of Ameican POWs was examined in detail after the Korean War by many authors.

I was fascinated by this book when I read it at age 8 or 9, and still am! The book is composed of three parts, in which an arachnologist, and embryologist, and a microbiolgist discuss their work and their lives. Totally written for the layman, it is a very easy read. I'd recommend it for young people just becoming interested in science.
