Jarod Kintz

Not your typical format for a book, Kintz instead uses a compilation of hilarious letters in which he wishes Dear Natalie a happy birthday...again and again...but I don't want to ruin it for future readers so I won't go into too much detail.

I enjoyed this and laughed out loud many times. Kintz is a master of one liners and "deep thoughts". If you're expecting to find a standard novel in this book, you'll be disappointed...or more likely pleasantly surprised. If you're hoping for humor, then read on. I insist. Kintz has a gift with mixing dry, subtle comedy with the ridiculous. Yes, the combination works. If you need a giggle or something to lighten your foul mood, I recommend Dear Natalie.… (mais)

If you’re expecting a story or any semblance of a plot, you’ll be disappointed. “Six Foot and Some Change” (which refers to the author’s height which he says is “around 6'3 - give or take two dimes and a nickel.”) is absurd humor and it is hilarious. It reads more like a standup routine than a novel, which makes it ideal for picking up again and again.

The overall voice of the book is irreverent and tongue-and-cheek, with a dash of intelligence behind it all. Jarod Kintz also details life with his cat 'Cap'n (my favorite "character"), his laughable attempts at “stalking” women at Starbucks, and life in the “galaxy” of Florida. Kintz seems to ramble occasionally, taking things way off track, but I suspect this was intentional. I don’t believe there’s a single “chronicle” in this book that was accidental. It takes great skill to craft writing to look as though it hasn’t been crafted at all.

The book is brief—not even 100 pages—but a longer book would’ve been overkill. I can open it at any page and find a giggle that brightens my day instantly. Kintz mixes self-deprecating humor with a dash of satire and absurdity to create a very funny little book. Even if you don’t usually read “this type of book” I recommend you try it at least once. You never know when you’ll need a smile, and “Six Foot and Some Change” delivers that.… (mais)

sounds a magnificent hotel with magical rooms and items not what they seem to be. Very clever. Alot of imagination from Jarod to create this spectacular book.

As I'm reading this, it makes me want to go to The Mandrake Hotel myself, what with all its secrets and magic it holds within the building and also to be able to be meet Rot the manager himself plus Jackson Jackson Jackson

My favourite room in the hotel is; if Jarod could possibly reserve it for me one year then I would indeed be most grateful,. Actually, I will let Jarod decide on that one himself for me as there are hundreds of rooms and they are all different it would be much too difficult for me to choose one for myself.,
I'm absolutely loving this Jarod, its so amusing, you always makes me laugh. I would love to be in a place like this....you are so talented. A great sense of humor, also a real terrific eye for imagination that you can put down into words and that takes alot of creativity.

this book is amazing, so spertacular. You have an amazing imagination and, just like i have said to you before, you are a pure tonic. You can always put a smile on peoples faces with your humor and just how creative you are putting your thoughts down on paper just comes natural to you. You really are the greatest Jarod Kintz. a genius

such an amusing story line, one that I wil be reading over and over again and I do hope that Jarod will be doing more creative stories just like this one.

He's such a funny person, can't help making jokes. Loves to put a smile on everyone's face, and so down to earth
