Racer Roane and Arloe Vitteo are determined to stay together at all cost. They decide to run away together to the desert town of Winthrop, hours away from their home, until Arloe turns eighteen. Then, Arloe’s father would have no say on who she chooses to date. Hiding their identities and with enough money saved up for a rental, Racer and Arloe set out on their own for the summer hoping to make the best out of their situation. Only the town and its inhabitants are not at all what they expected. First, their rental property is run down, creepy and filthy and definitely did not look as advertised, but they already paid for it sight unseen and there was no way to get their money back. Second, the people of Winthrop were not on the up and up and seemed a tad bit.....crazy.

Something evil is lurking around the corner and has its sights locked into the teens. Will Racer and Arloe make it out alive or will they be sucked into the lure of the town from hell?

Town From Hell is the first book in the Dagger & Brimstone series and it packs quite the punch. Things start off rather slowly which drew me into the mystery surrounding this crazy town. The tension builds and builds as I flipped through the pages and then out of nowhere things just get WEIRD! Its like you are on a roller coaster and its slopes are fairly easy and you are like "I got this!" Then, you come to that first big drop and you are like “what the....OMG!” Yep, that was pretty much my response when the action picked up towards the middle of the story. I was just not expecting the turn Town From Hell took and it totally blew my mind in a good way. The second half of the story is action packed and introduces all the key players to this town of terror. I found myself really loving the twists and turns. T.W. Kirchner has a knack for storytelling along with a twisted and sick mind that will leave you guessing what is real and what is not. It incorporates all these different genres like horror, paranormal and sci-fi and mixes it all together to create something out of this world. I was totally blown away.

The plot is super descriptive and the world building made me feel as if I was in the town experience everything that Racer and Arloe felt and saw. T.W. Kirchner does not hold anything back and brings new meaning to the “ick factor.” The story is filled with blood, guts, bugs and everything else that will make you squirm. This is definitely not for the squeamish. I am deathly afraid of bugs and even I had a hard time reading the scenes with the creepy crawlies. If I was locked in a room with bugs galore, then I...would...just...die! I get the heebie jeebies just thinking about it!

If you are a fan of horror and the paranormal then Town From Hell will take you on a crazy ride filled with terror, darkness and deception that will scare the bejeezus out of you. This story is a great start to a series that I definitely plan on following.
