G. N. Kitching

This is a disappointing book. I am a convert to Marx's economic theories: they seem to me, to make sense of so much with which neoclassical economics fails to even engage. Even so, reading just Marx and pro-Marx literature can mean that one misses something worth considering.

This book leaves me more convinced by Marx's views: Gavin Kitching spends a great deal of time establishing that Marx was wholly influenced by his time and that his views could not be considered universal, as the views of Mr Kitching are (for some unexplained reason).

I am no economist but, the attempts to defeat Marx within this book, seem to become more and more desperate.
